Waterfront Homes on the Market in New Fairfield, CT

In September, 2015 there were 33 direct waterfront homes that were offered for sale in New Fairfield, CT. Some were on Candlewood Lake (largest lake in the state of Connecticut), some on Squantz Pond and on Ball Pond.
The lowest-priced waterfront home that was offered for sale in New Fairfield at the time was at $329,000. It’s a one-bedroom ranch on Ball Pond, a smaller lake, where only non-motorized boats are permitted. The home that carried the highest price tag at that time was a state-of-the-art 4,500-odd sq foot contemporary on Candlewood Lake built in 2007. It is priced at $6,900,000. The average price of the 33 homes was $1,881,000. Fifteen of the homes were under $1,000,000.

New Fairfield is just under 65 miles from the center of Manhattan, which makes for an easy drive. The surrounding woods and lakes provide a wonderful antidote to city living in close proximity to New York City.

The number of waterfront homes currently on the market in New Fairfield provides a good selection in varying price ranges; there is “something for everyone”.
BUYERS – now may be a good time to plan for a vacation home for the summer! Mortgage rates are still very competitive, if financing is needed. Some owners like to keep their waterfront homes “for one last season”, but may be reluctant to carry them over the winter, making it a good BUY OPPORTUNITY. Our area is beautiful in winter months as well.
