Sherman is one of my favorite towns in the Candlewood Lake area of Connecticut. It offers tranquil expanses and quintessential New England charm. Home prices, especially in the current environment, are competitive and the area is so close to New York City, it is a perfect get-away spot for city-dwellers. Taxes are low.
In the month of January, 2016 six single family homes changed hands in Sherman, CT:
- 137 Green Pond Rd at $135,000
- 6 Parker Rd at $240,000
- 31 Brinsmade Ln at $275,000
- 8 Laurel Hill South at $330,000
- 7 Anderson Rd East at $435,000
- 18 Fox Run at $515,000
The average discount rate for those homes sold was 4.3%, that is the homes sold, on average at 4.3% below the asking price.
The average time on the market was 103 days; the lowest being at only 58 days and the highest at 170 days; both statistics are good numbers for Sherman.
